August 3: Kids' Cooking Workshop - Rainbow Tacos: Young chefs ages 8-12 will make their own custom tacos with fresh tortillas, beans, yogurt crema, and a fresh salsa made with City Green vegetables.

August 11: Kids' Garden Program - All About Bugs!: A drop-off garden program for kids ages 5-8. Participants will learn about the world of bugs that support the ecosystem around us in a fun, natural environment

Join City Green & Culinary Creatives for a Dietitian-led, hands-on cooking program where kids turn fresh produce into delicious, healthful dishes. Our class introduces new kitchen skills while celebrating the flavors of the garden. Young chefs aged 8-12 will chop, mix, and taste their way through a recipe for Garden Dumplings made with fresh City Green veggies.

Introducing City Green's Seed Lending Library!

City Green's Seed Lending Library is now open to the community! What is a Seed Lending Library? A Seed Lending Library is a “library” containing seeds that can be exchanged throughout the community. City Green Teaches Teachers as Part of the New Jersey Climate Change Learning Collaborative!

Last year, City Green was awarded a grant from the Ramapo College of New Jersey’s Climate Change Learning Collaborative (CCLC) that operates in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Education. The Climate Change Learning Collaborative was established by the NJ Department of Education in 2024 to advance high-quality climate change education within NJ’s schools. City Green Nominates Henry Anderson for the Rodale Institute Good Farmer Award U.S.

City Green recently nominated our Director of Agriculture, Henry Anderson, for the Rodale Institute Good Farmer Award U.S.! This award recognizes regenerative farmers in the U.S. who exemplify sustainable farming practices and contribute to community and environmental health. Henry began working at City Green in 2018 first as a Farm Manager and was soon after promoted to Farm Director. Passaic County Grows Greener with Dig In! Tree, Bulb, and Perennial Grants

This past fall, 22 Passaic County groups planted flowers, shrubs, trees, and more as part of the Dig In! Tree, Bulb, & Native Perennial Grant program. A partnership between Passaic County and City Green, this program offers municipalities and community groups the opportunity to participate in county-wide greening and planting through the distribution of "plant grants."
