Every March, our farm team fires up the greenhouse and gets ready to start planting. We mix our potting soil in the greenhouse, customized to our growing conditions and needs, making this a truly local process. Every crop sold at the markets, every tomato, onion, squash, and head of lettuce is started in the greenhouse the same way, hand-seeded by the farmers.

Since our first farm stand in 2010, thousands of people have experienced the nourishing power of City Green’s Farm and Markets efforts. For fifteen years, we’ve worked to grow the farming operation in order to supply the highest quality produce for the farm stands and veggie mobiles in Paterson, Clifton, Passaic, and Bloomfield. Our purpose was clear…. nurture the local food system by providing our community with opportunities to access and enjoy farm-fresh produce. Today our markets are more abundant than ever, with over 150 varieties of organically grown vegetables offered for 24 weeks, at sites like Paterson Senior Towers, Passaic City Hall and WIC office, Lou Costello Park in Paterson, Evergreen Manor Senior Residence, and the Bloomfield Library.

When you donate to City Green today, your donation is matched, dollar-for-dollar by Partners for Health Foundation.
