Earlier this month, City Green hosted the New Jersey Agricultural Leadership Development Program (NJALDP) for a tour of the farm and a discussion about our regenerative farming practices. The NJALDP is a two-year program in collaboration with Rutgers University that provides educational programming and trips to a cohort of individuals from across New Jersey who are involved in agriculture and agribusiness. This year’s class members include Julia-Marie Cassidy, Sam Nichols, Carmen Mondelli, Kimberly Dalton, Nick Adams, Lauren Lewis, Dana Ronyack-Davis, Amanda Wenczel Arians, Nate Lucas, Jamie Specca, Dr. Douglas Zemeckis, Ashley Asdal, Sean Pizzio, Keri Brodhecker, and Ash C. Dunlevy.
Our farm tour was led by members of our staff including Director of Food Access Lisa Martin, Director of Community Engagement & Advocacy Jasmine Moreano, and Director of Agriculture Henry Anderson. The tour included visits to City Green’s Learning Garden, barn and coolbot, permaculture hill, and regenerative farm fields. Our staff presented about our sustainable farming practices, community engagement, and food access programs.
These rising agricultural leaders shared a wealth of knowledge and learned about the regenerative farm practices that City Green uses in our “market-garden” style farm. This was an exciting and insightful experience connecting with a diverse group of farmers and agricultural industry leaders.
Thank you to the NJALDP for joining us!
