Fall Garden Workshop: Dividing Perennials & Saving Seeds

This is a two-hour fall gardening event for people interested in getting together with local gardeners and learning sustainable fall garden practices. City Green’s horticulture educators will lead hands-on demonstrations on how to property divide perennials and how to harvest and save seeds from flowers and fruits. We conclude with a Perennial & Seed Swap, where participants will cut plants from City Green’s native perennial gardens, check out seeds from the Seed Lending Library, and exchange home-grown garden goodies with each other. Gardeners are encouraged to bring plants and seeds to swap. 

Dividing perennials, seed saving, and swapping all promote resilience and biodiversity, save money and resources, and help form connections within  the local gardening community.

10:15am - 10:45am: Seed-Saving Demonstration & Hands-on Activity

11am - 11:45am: Perennial Dig and Take in City Green Gardens
