New Jersey Young Farmers Coalition

About

The New Jersey Young Farmers Coalition is a collaboration of individuals in Northern and Central NJ who are committed to creating a support system for the next generation of farmers. The coalition serves to create local networks, operating as a platform for building communal success through resource sharing and advocacy. We work together to bring attention to and create solutions for the critical issues that young and beginning farmers face. We fight for vital resources such as land access, policies to aid with student loan debts, skill training opportunities, conservation initiatives, and programs that bring awareness to and defend against racial inequity within agriculture. When unified, young and beginning farmers can have a powerful voice to define and create change in their communities, at the state capital, and in federal policies.

The NJ Young Farmers Coalition is a chapter of The National Young Farmers Coalition, a country-wide alliance that supports young farmers in mobilizing and engaging with other farmers and advocates in order to work towards a just future in agriculture.

Who it’s for

The New Jersey Young Farmers Coalition is for anyone interested in supporting the next generation of farmers within the entire state of New Jersey. New Jersey is a unique place where we are able to collaborate and work together with both large scale, multi-generational farms as well as urban farms and market gardens. This gives us the opportunity to form networks and communities around a vast array of young farmers in the area.
