Dig In! Final Report for Community Gardens  & Water Assistance Grants

FINAL REPORT GUIDELINES 
 

This submission portal is for all Community Garden Grantees (including new, returning and sustaining grants) and water assistance grants. If you received a Habitat Restoration, Tree, or Daffodil grant, please go to the corresponding Final Report submission page. 

FINAL REPORT REQUIREMENTS

Final Reports are due Friday, October 30th, 2020 at 11:59 pm EST

Complete Sections I, II, III and IV of the final report.

Be sure to upload all photos, narratives, and completed budget sheet.

Provide the electronic signature of all three Project Coordinators.

GARDEN NARRATIVE

Write a 1-page narrative of your gardening season answering all 15 questions below.

  1. When did this site become a community garden? How many plots are in the garden?

  2. What was on the site before it became a garden?  Vacant lot, Yard, Other

  3. How many people are actively gardening?

  4. Approximately how many people in total participated in the community garden this year, including workshops and events?

  5. Does your group have a formal garden committee?

  6. What is grown in the garden? Vegetables, Fruits, Herbs, Flowers

  7. Do you keep track of the food produced in the garden?

  8. What happens to the food that is grown in the garden? Consumed by growers, Donated, Sold, Used for Educational Purposes

  9. If your group donated to a food pantry or soup kitchen, do you know how many pounds of food were donated?

  10. Please list any additional structures or amenities in the garden (For instance a fence, seating area, gazebo, pathways, etc.).

  11. Does the community garden partner with any local community groups or organizations? 

  12. Did your group conduct any educational workshops?

  13. Do the gardeners compost?  Employ crop rotation or companion planting?

  14. Is the garden free of chemical pesticides/fertilizers? Are other environmentally-friendly practices used in the garden?

  15. Do you continue to have a committed group of volunteers and gardeners to help maintain the garden?

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By signing below, we agree that we have fulfilled all the terms of the grant agreement. Any violations of the statements below qualify as a Dig In! Grant failure:
  1. The project is not fully implemented by the end of the grant period (and the applicant has not applied for a grant extension).

  2. The complete final report is not submitted by the due date.

  3. More than 10% or 5% of the grant money is not used by the end of the grant period.

  4. A financial match is not provided.

Before you submit be sure to check that you:

 

  • Meet all eligibility requirements

  • Completed all sections of the application

  • Submitted all required documents

  • Have all three signatures
