Dig In! Tree & Daffodil Bulb Application

APPLICATION GUIDELINES AND ELIGIBILITY


 

ELIGIBILITY: This program supports community organizations, faith-based organizations, municipal “adopt-a-lot” programs, garden clubs, green teams, and energetic community members looking to spearhead a public, community garden project. Projects must be located in Passaic County.

 

NOT ELIGIBLE:

  • Projects outside of Passaic County are not eligible.

  • Schools and youth-serving organizations are not eligible to apply, Please contact Emma Latham, School Grounds Manager at: elatham@city-green.org for school garden inquiries and Liz Kleisner, City Sprouts Manager at: lkleisner@city-green.org for educational youth programing.

  • Commercial for-profit entities and private residences are not eligible for funding.

 

GRANT REQUIREMENTS

  • Project must be highly visible to the public and provide an identifiable positive impact to the neighborhood.

  • Area must have on-site access to water.

  • Applicants must have a minimum of three adults committed to their project

 

Dig In! Tree Grant

  • Funding is $500 and can be used to purchase: native trees, water bags, hoses, and soil amendments. 75% of the grant funds must be used to purchase plant material, grant funds cannot be used to buy annual plants

Dig In! Daffodil Bulb Grant

  • City Green will award daffodil bulbs in the following quantities: 100, 200, 300, 400, & 500.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applications are due Friday, August 28th, 2020 at 11:59 pm EST.

Complete Sections I, II, and III of the application.

Be sure to upload photos or sketch of garden site, a completed budget sheet and letter of support.

Provide the electronic signature of all three Project Coordinators.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By signing below, we demonstrate our support for the garden if the grant is successful, and understand that should we be awarded the grant, we will have to provide a matching financial fund, attend the Dig In! Award Ceremony, and provide a final report at the end of the season.

Before you submit be sure to check that you:

 

  • Meet all eligibility requirements

  • Have 3 adults committed to the project

  • Completed all sections of the application

  • Meet the 100 word minimum requirement for all questions

  • Submitted all required documents

  • Have all three signatures
