Volunteer Opportunities* at City Green:

Auxiliary Volunteers
Promote the interests and work of City Green by planning and coordinating fund raising events. City Green depends on the talents of many community members who commit to helping our programs through their fundraising and outreach efforts. Please contact us to discuss how you might help!

Gardener Resource Center
Research inquiries and correspondence to provide Green Your Block! participants, Back Yard Gardeners and community gardeners with basic information as well as answers to specific and seasonal questions. Some horticulture experience and research ability is ideal. Plant and pest ID is helpful.

Horticulture
Assist with the maintenance of the City Green Learning Garden by pruning, planting, raking, mulching, watering, and weeding. Work with City Green staff to help maintain and further the Garden's beauty and food production. Volunteers must be able to handle light physical activity, including bending, lifting, kneeling, and tolerate some weather fluctuations.

Educators at The Learning Garden
Youth from area schools and community centers come to The City Green Learning Garden to learn how to grow vegetable gardens, understand their environment and enjoy nature. Volunteers partner with the education staff to bring our valuable programming to our community's young people. Volunteers are needed for morning shifts during the week from June through August.

On-Call Special Events Volunteers
Throughout the year City Green hosts other events that may require volunteer help. Work may involve setting up, handing out information, leading garden tours, etc. On-call special event volunteer positions are perfect for those who need flexibility and don't mind behind-the-scenes work.

Special Guests
Throughout the year City Green is happy to host guest lecturers, authors, experienced gardeners and naturalists to enhance our programming and educational offerings. Please contact us if you would like to share your talents, expertise or special presentation with City Green gardeners.
