City Green offers two programs for interested schools; an Environmental Club Program and a School Garden Program. These school programs aim to facilitate new school gardens to create a hands-on learning tool with rich, year-long connections to the NJ Core Curriculum; encourage students to think about healthy food choices; connect students more closely to the natural world; and encourage students to be good stewards of the environment.
Each program includes teacher training, a program curriculum manual with step by step lessons and instructions including links to the core curriculum standards, and support for program implementation by City Green staff.

The City Green Learning Garden is a field trip site for Paterson Public
Schools – field trip programming incorporates lessons about local food systems, sustainable agriculture and urban environmental issues. Contact City Green for further information about taking your class to the Learning Garden.
