Just two minutes down the road from our new Learning Garden in East Side Park. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;City Green is also pleased to welcome Americorp member Racquel Houssen – Racquel will be running the “Garden Clubs” at St. Paul’s CDC, the YWCA, and the Paterson Library.  She will also be helping with projects at Straight and Narrow.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;New Projects:&lt;br/&gt;New after school project at St. Paul’s Community Development Corporation – The after school kids will form a “garden club” to grow flowers, butterfly attracting plants and veggies!  They will participate in great educational activities in the process.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;New raised bed vegetable garden project - partnering with NJ Community Development Corporation at their newly built Birch Street Apartments for the formerly homeless and mentally ill.  We think growing food and flowers will be a powerful experience for the new residents of the Birch St. Apartments!&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;New program at the YWCA and the Paterson Library – new this year City Green will be conducting a Literature in the Garden program!  Stories and lessons from the garden, along with creative journaling work!&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The Environmental Justice Club at School 7 is taking action!  These motivated students are starting a School-Wide Recycling Program!  They are partnering with the Paterson Recycling Department and science teacher Mrs. Arrington to educate their school, while creating less waste.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The Story Time Garden plan is in the works for this spring at the main branch of the Paterson Public Library – This will be a natural space with a story circle surrounded by sensory engaging plants with pleasant aromas, a variety of colors, soothing sounds and interesting textures!&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;Entries/2007/10/1_FALL_2007_-_NEWSLETTER_2.html&quot;&gt;We have lots more educational programs &lt;br/&gt;and gardens to grow.
